About me

Vilas Shinde, PhD

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Mississippi State University, Starkville, USA. Earlier I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA.
Before joining the OSU, I held a researcher position at the French National Research Agengy (CNRS) and Electricity of France (EDF) at Paris.
I did my PhD in fluid mechanics from the Ecole Polytechnique (the X) and master studies in turbulence from the Ecole Central de Lille in France.

I am interested in fundamental research in fluid dynamics, with focus on multiphysics interactions. I am keen on high-fidelity simulations, development of analytical techniques, and turbulence modeling for multiphysics flows.

Currently, I am working on high-speed fluid-structure interaction, turbulence modeling, reduced-order modeling and flow stability and modal analysis.
